World LiteratureHAMLET Test200 points (180 for test answers; 20 for correct documentation of quotations and Works Cited as well as spelling, etc.)Be sure to support your answers with Act.scene.line(s) cited like this:“The time is out of joint” (1.5.210).

1. Hamlet’s relationships with the other characters in the play are complicated. Choose three relationships; analyze how Hamlet is impacted by each (three quotations – one for each relationship). 60 points
Ophelia- He really loves Ophelia and wants her and wants to be with her forever so ,but he also has good friends and will not be with her because she is kinda crazy too. He loves her ,but cant trust her is not very loyal, also he has to act like he is mad at her. At her burial he confesses his love for her. It makes Hamlet sad to see that his love of his life is going crazy and is doing very od and weird thing. She commits suicide after awhile with makes Hamlet sad becaue he never got to show her his real feelings. Ophelia was frightened by Hamlets crazy actions and disturbing behavoir. Ophelia "My Lord, I was sewing in my closet, and to the last ,bended their light on me" (2.1.1)

Gertrude His Mother- He likes his mother and respects her ,but he doesnt like the fact that she didnt mourn very much after his fathers death long enough. After the death she really was sad at the funeral and cried a lot. Hamlet didnt like that right after the funeral she quickly got over hjher grieving which Hamlet thought was weird because he thought maybe she wanted Hamlets father to die. He also doesnt like his mother that much because she is guilty of incest. Hamlet says in one part of the book Animals or beasts grieve longer periods of time then his mother. She also like to drink and party a lot with her new husband Clauduis Hamlets uncle which Hamlet doesnt think is right for his mother to do. "A little month, or ere those were old with which she follow'd my poor fathers body, like Niobe, all tears: why she even she O, God! a beast, that wants discourse of reason. would have mourn longer married my uncle, than i to hercules. (1.2.6)

King Claudias- Hamlet doesnt really like King Cladias because first of all he killed his father and he knows he did it. He also marries his mother which is incest which makes Hamlet very upset and angry he thinks that King Claduis is turning his mother into a evil and a bad person. Hamlet also thinks that Claudias could never live up to what his father was and thinks is father who was compaired to the sun god is a lot better and a lot stronger and smarter of a king. King Claudius "O, 'tis too true! How smart a lash that speech doth give me conscience! The harlot's cheek, beautiful with plastering art, Is not more ugly to the thing that helps it Than is my deed to my most painted word: O heavy burthen!" (3.1.4)

2. Revenge, redemption, loyalty, indecision, love, appearance vs. reality, and betrayal are significant themes in the play. Choose three of these and explain how each theme affects the characters and the outcome of the play (three quotations – one for each theme). 60 points

Revenge- Hamlet goes threw a very hard time in the book because he knows that King Claudias
killed his father which makes him angry if he and upset ,but he wont kill Claudias because he finds lots of reasons not to. He even finds king Claudias praying and hears him praying to God and said that he kill Old Hamlet ,but he will not kill him there because he believes that if he kills Claudias while he is praying he will go straight to heaven and thats not what Hamlet wants he wants him to go to Hell and be punished forever. He wants to kill King Claudias when he is doing something sinful like sleeping with Gertrude in the pleasure of his own bed. Even though Claudias cannot confess his sins proporly to God Hamlet will still not kill him while he is praying to God. "Hamlet now might I do it pat, now he is praying; and now I'll do it. And so he goes to heaven; And so am I revenged. That would be scann'd: A villain kills my father; and for that I, his sole son, do this same villian send To heaven. (3.3.1)

Love-One person that Hamlet shows lots of love to is his father. I think by wanting to kill his uncle and get back at him for what he did to his father shows lots of love because it could also get Hamlet in lots of trouble. Hamlet not killing Claudias shows lots of love towards God even though one of the reasons he doesnt kill him there is because he wants Claudias to go to Hell ,but I also he thinks its wrong and he should not d.o it while he is praying which is showing lots of love for God. He also show lots of love for Ophelia at her funerial. "Then if he loves you, it fits your wisdom so far to believe it as he in his particular act and place May give his saying deed; which is no futher than the main voice of Denmark goes withal. Then weigh what loss your honour may sustain, Or lose your heart, or your chaste treasure open to his unmaster'd(1.1.3)

Betrayal-

3. Has Hamlet changed? You may compare the soliloquies from1.2.133-164 2.2.575-636 3.1.63-99 4.4.33-69 or you may use other textual evidence that you have prepared to answer this question (three quotations – beginning, “middle,” and end). 60 points

Indains and Pilgrims

This is a picture Indians and Pilgrims sitting together and eating after the became friends. The Pilgrims came to America so they could have free religion.

Religion Has cause lots of conflicts threw out history. The Pilgrims came over partly because of the religion they had to go by what others said in there old country. Religion still has a big impact on today countries still fight about it. The Puritans wanted to have free religion ,but they couldn't in their old country.

At first the Indians and Pilgrims did not get a long very well the fought a lot but then they became friends.

The Indians believed in what they did the whites drove them out of there land and killed many. I think the whites should have been more respectful because the Indians were there first.

The corn was a big part of the Indians and Pilgrims because the Indians showed them how to grow corn

Star Wars Test

The Cycle Of The Hero: The call to adventure is when Obiwon calls Luke to go to save Princess Leia. The 2 robot helpers were c3po and R2D2 they helped a lot because R2D2 held the message from Leia and cp30 could talk to R2D2. The first big test they faced was when they went to save princess Leia on the ship called the Death Star. They get into a shooting battle with the strom troopers and save princess Leia ,but before they could get out of the Death Star the fall into the garge place and it starts to close on them ,but right before they get kill C3PO tops the walls from coming in and saves them. Then they get out of there in the place ship ,but Obiwon gets killed to save them. The two helepers were Hon Solo and Chewy. The triump is when Luke wants to become apart of the good people so they go to blow up the Death Star and when all his troops die becaus the get shot down Obiwon tells Luke to use the force but right before luke gets shot Hons Solo shoots down and enemy ship and saves them. The flight is when Luke blows upthe Death Star and is on his way home from it and is very happy because he has become a hero to many people for blowing up the Death Star. The threshold sruggle is when Luke returns home from the mission and is happy ,but i little sad because r2d2 is in pretty beat up shape c3po is probably more sad because that was his best friend. The Elixir is when Luke becomes a very big hero and gets rewarded for his bravery and everyone is happy.

Literary Archetypes
Heros and Antiheros I believe Luke is the hero because he is always the brave one that wants to do the right thing he saved Leia from Darth Vador and the death star. I believe the antihero is Han because he doesnt believe in the force and is in it for the money and not just because he is doing the right thing.

The Wise Fool I believe that Obewon is the wise fool because he is very very samrt and powerful but nobody believes in what he says everyone thinks he is crazy and they think he is dumb. Obewon is really probably the samrtest person in the story.

The Devil Figure I believe the devil figure is Darth vador he is bad because he is mean to lots of people he use to be nice but turned mean when emporor captured his wife and made Darth kill her in a way.

The Outcast I Believe they outcast is Chewbaca everyone makes fun of Chewy and he makes weird noises and is kinda dumb. Chewy is a big help mostly case he is bigger than everyone but he really sometimes gets in the way.

The double I Believe the double is Darth vador because way back in the day he was good but turned evil when the emporor captured his wife and made him kill her in a way after that he got burned bad and had to wear that suit so he looks mean and nobody really likes him but he has a softspot cause he killed the emoporor to save Luke.

The Scapegoat I believe obiwon is the scapegoat obiwon is brave enough to kill himself to make Luke stronger so that he will have the force and join the Jeti.

The Temptress I believe is princess Leia because she is beautiful and smart she does brind destruction because she was captured by the death star Luke blows it up and they all die.

The Good Mother I also believe that Leia is the good mother because she is smart and helps Luke become stronger threw the hole thing and she is very nice.

THE TRAGIC MAN:
A Belief In His Own Freedom
Yes he makes his own choices because he choses to go to the dark side he didnt have to do it he also kills the emporor becuase he somethimes did the right thing
A Supreme pride
Darth has lots of power and thinks he is unstoppable ,but he is not because he has a softspot. Darth thinks of himself as the best in the hole world and that he could destroy anything.
Capacity for Suffering
He use to be a powerful person in the Jeti ,but then his wife dies and he joins the Dark Side he really wants to destroy the rebel base and princess Leia and that base because of his son Luke he cant.
A Sense of Commitment
He never committed to the Dark side or the Jeti because he quit the Jeti and joined the dark Side. He also never committed to the Dark side either becuase he kills the emporor and saves his son.
Vigorous Protest
He is mad becuase Luke and Obiwon save the princess and blow up the death star this makes him mad because they are apart of the rebel group and he hates the Rebel group. Then he lets Luke see his face because Luke is his son.
Transfiguration
i do believe he went threw and transfiguration becuase he at the end of the movie he saves Luke and kills the emporor by pushing him down when he is trying to kill Luke.
Impact
Darht Vador lifed and tragic life because he kinf od had to jion the dark side to try so safe her life and then he jions the dark side. The best thing he ever did was save Luke.
Heros:
Luke is a hero because he is brave, strong hearted, and a leader. Luke risks his life for a princess that he barly even nose and he belives Obiwon when everyone thinks he is crazy. He takes big chances and the pay off in the end because he becomes one of the best jeti ever even better than his dad before he went to the dark side.
Theme: i think the theme of the movie is love even though Darth vador is on the dark side he saves his son. Another thing that showed love was when Luke saved his sister and helped her out. Luke also loved the 2 robots because he never wanted anything to happen to them and they helped him out threwout the hole story.
